Prayer For A Sincere Life
I lift my thoughts to You, Lord my God, so that
You may renew the sincerity of my way of life.
I want to restore, with Your grace, the genuine image of
my being, courageously, honestly acknowledging my value and my failings.
Lord God, I bring to Your Presence a burning wish to be
a whole person without falsehood, deception, or duplicity.
Nurture in me an aversion to double dealing;
diminish the gap that exists between my principles and
my deeds, between my aspirations and my reality.
Heal me, Lord God, of the disastrous effects I cause by
my lack of thought or prudence.
Help me to carry my victories with humility and my
defeats with courage.
Lord God, guard me from the blindness that comes from pride,
for it closes my heart to understanding and acceptance of others.
Encourage me always to speak the truth, remain loyal to
my convictions, and not give in to hypocrisy or dishonesty.
