“God Offers Mercy Before Justice”

God Offers His Mercy Before Exercising His Justice 1

Hello friends, I’m Fr. Wade Menezes of the Fathers of Mercy with another “Mercy Moment” for the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy called for by Pope Francis.

A strong theme for this Jubilee Year of Mercy, which is tied closely to the Divine Mercy devotion, is the fact that God wishes to offer His mercy before exercising His justice.  This theme, in fact, is seen time and again in St. Faustina’s Diary in Our Lord’s revelations to her.

For example, in paragraph 83, Our Lord tells her, “Write this: before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy.”

And in paragraph 1146, He says:  “…before I come as a just Judge, I first open wide the door of My mercy.  He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice…” There’s a strong link between this quote and the Gospel of St. John, chapter 10, verse 7, wherein Our Lord says, “I am the Door.”  We also see here the whole symbolism and meaning behind the “Holy Doors” of designated Jubilee Year sites across the globe.

One of the most significant things Our Lord reveals to St. Faustina about His desire to extend mercy before justice to the repentant sinner is this – found in paragraph 848.  He states:  “(My daughter) Speak to the world about My mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy.  It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice.  While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; let them profit from the Blood and Water which gushed forth for them.”

One last revelation worth sharing from St. Faustina’s Diary that illustrates the beautiful truth that Almighty God wishes to exercise toward all His mercy before His justice is paragraph 1588.  He tells St. Faustina simply and lovingly:  “Before the Day of Justice, I am sending the Day of Mercy.”

And that’s another Mercy Moment.  I’m Fr. Wade Menezes of the Fathers of Mercy.  Be sure to visit fathersofmercy.com and follow us on Facebook. God bless you.
